Winner of 2017 Learning Champion Award !

It was an absolute privilege to become a finalist in the 2017 Learning Champion Awards in the internationally renowned eLearning! Magazine and an incredible shock to actually win. eLearning ChampionA colleague put me forward for the work I’d recently done on the Core Values rollout …incredibly I received a message a few months later …. that I was a finalist and then in the last two weeks I was told I had won an Award and would be named in the magazine as one of 28 Learning Champions for 2017 !!!!!!

I was measured against the Core Values e-Learning module I created as part of a Values Rollout initiative which was completed in the fourth quarter for 2016.

At the time L&D was going through a restructure and I didn’t have anyone to support me so I managed the whole instructional design and then did the actual development, testing and implementation too. There were a few technical difficulties scenarios creation was the most difficult area. Input was gathered from various stakeholders across the organization, but it was a graduate associate who came up with the best ideas – lesson learnt never ignore anyone’s idea we all have something to contribute !!!

Using a SAM (Successive Approximation Model) approach worked a treat couple this with SCRUM and agile and you have a recipe for success ! Being organized helped and having a background in process improvement and project management (I’m PMP certified) kept everything on track ….. watch this space for more innovative solutions coming out of Doha !!!
